Some pictures of the Skyfox (T-33 mod) at Medford

Tue Jul 21, 2009 11:56 am

I know that this airplane has been the subject of a couple of earlier threads. The Skyfox has been sitting in Medford for several years and the engines were removed some time ago. That said,it has been moved to a ramp near the tanker base this year and I took some pictures.Last year someone asked who currently owns the Skyfox.I asked at Medford Air.They wouldn't tell me the owner's name, but they did call him for me.He'll speak with anyone who has a serious interest in buying the airplane. All others can leave him alone.Or words to that effect.

I saw that fly out of Scottsdale, AZ several times. Does not look like it has flown in several years.

Randy,

My co-pilot made the inquiry at Medford Air last year.He didn't mention a price being quoted, but our question was just concerning the owner's name.I'll see if I can find out contact information concerning an asking price. If you care to try on your own,the phone number for Medford Air is: (541)-779-5451

My guess based on the response from the owner you posted, it's probably more than it's worth.

A unique airplane, no doubt, but not anywhere close to capable of flying without significant investment, which obviously significantly devalues the airplane as-is.

What's in the background of your last 2 pics Larry??
Looks like a F-6 on stilts  :?:

It's an F-16 in a cradle of some sort, but looking at it it seems to be some sort of mockup or replica, not an actual aircraft.

Skyfox is an interesting aircraft as it was an attempt to provide a trainer based on the reuse of the T-33 with mods, new engines and systems. Guess there was not enough interest here and in other countries to push the program past the prototype test phase.

Anyone know what the going price for a pair of Garret 731s ? :D

If I was in the market for a jet warbird, this might be at the top of my list.
It's different...fairly cheap to operate...I can read the manuals (i.e. made in US).

I wonder about the availbility of airframe spares?
How much has it been changed from a T-33 and are any of the unique pieces life-limited or made out of unobtanium?

Hi Larry,

I updated the Location Dossier for the F-16 and the Skyfox. The problem is I have no idea where they are now. Could you help me by using the map on this page...
ImageAerial Visuals - Location Dossier - Medford Jackson County Airport, Oregon - C-97, F-16, Skyfox
...to do so just zoom on the site for accuracy and right click to the coordinates.

Are these two airframes in public view?

Also if you don't mind could you upload a photo or two of the F-16 and the Skyfox. The upload link for the F-16 is...

The upload link for the Skyfox is...

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide Larry.
