I had the honor at Peoria of being asked to go on a ride in a combat veteran TBM Avenger flown by Linda Schumm. She is one of only TWO certified female Avenger pilots. And it was a privilidge. She is a great pilot and a great friend. Torpedo runs are the best!

Very cool! That is such a beast of an AC! Though, I don't know if I'd want to try to trap on a carrier deck in one. That tailhook just doesn't look big enough for the job!

You're right; that hook isn't a TBM hook. The "beast" actually comes down final at 80-85 knots. Three-point it on and it will stop in no time. Easier to land than a T-6.

Hard part is wanting to marry her or a girl who can open a bottle of beer with her teeth!

Any ways, it's awesome to see some one outside of the average warbird pilot flying something like this.
