How many B-25 Mitchells airworthy?

Just interested in a better-than-a-guess estimate of the number currently surviving (complete airframes) and airworthy.

www.warbirdalley.com says 34 are airworthy, don't know how up to date that is, but it's probably pretty close.

I'd taken that, but most of those figs are a) optimistic (somewhat accepting of 'alleged airworthy' a/c) and b) very out of date, I suspect from those I do know for other types. I want a recount!

The number of actual survivors would be good too - finding that hard to pin down reliably, oddly enough.

I'm surprised that no one mentioned the Aerovintage website... which does have a current listing of allthings B-25...

PS. Looks like 43 operational airframes, from a total of 124 complete airframes (not including those 9 unrecovered, and 19 partially complete examples).

Interesting it's correct for flyers to 2004 - five years ago! I'd presume the overall number and total number of fliers is relatively static.

I confess that the B-25 locator page at the aerovintage.com is out of date. The B-25 situation is more fluid that that for B-17s, but I do need to bring it current. Any corrections and/or additions would be welcome.

well, there is probably, just w/out looking, a complete squadron currently available for a motion picture, Like WAR PATH ACROSS THE PACIFIC maybe?
