CAF Lady Lodestar

Fri Jul 10, 2009 9:25 pm

Hi Guys,

It's been quite a while since I have posted, suffice it to say that unemployment sucks big time...'nuff said. But I'm once again plying my trade in aviation.

I was wondering if there was any progress being made to the CAF's Lady Lodestar since her gear collapse (?) and subsequent damage.

Thanks,

Paul

There has not been any significant repairs made to 'Lady Lodestar' N30N in awhile. The airframe custody has been returned to CAF HQ in Midland as the Squadron that had been assigned the airplane does not have pockets deep enough to handle the repair costs. The last major repair made was the reinstallation of the starboard main gear after the structural bulkheads and the downlock in the starboard nacelle was repaired.
If anyone out there has an interest in getting this once proud Lady back into the air, please contact CAF HQ. She is Standard catergory, was a known fixture on the east coast show circuit and missed very few shows for mechanicals. She has sat static at shows and is big enough to take visitors. She flew regularly in warbird shows, served as a jump platform, even was a "stunt double" for a late arriving bomber in a show. Carrys a crew of 10 but requires only two. We hauled our store everywhere and that really helped cover costs.
