Did Tigercats fly operational missions during the Second War?
If not, how close did they get to flying them?

That first link says delivery in April of '44? Is that a typo?
Do any pics exist of them in the pacific during the summer of '45?

Looks like they did start taking delivery in 44, but was slow to go to forward areas. here is a link to a pic of Marine nightfighter version in China, end of 45. Looks like they mostly got over there a bit late, Okinawa just before VJ day

They were in Okinawa with the Marines on VJ-Day. A Friend of mine who flew with VMF-222 said they flew a few missions before the war ended.

According to *the* Tigercat book, they arrived the day before VJ day...

IIRC the former- Air Zoo Tigercat was one of those on Okinawa at the end of the war.

I was once told that the former Air Zoo T-cat flew some post war recon missions over Japan, so that would jive with her being on Okinawa.
