Isn't that Burchinal's B-25?

It could be Burchinal's plane. Here's a photo of his B-25 in 1971 (photo by Budd Davisson):

No this is Burchinal's B-25 taken the day before we were in Vega. The B-25 with the collapsed gear is with Aero Trader now. My dad took these photos in the summer of 78.

Is that the one that was hauling drugs, then crashed? There was one somewhere, I thought here in Texas around '77 or '78, that crashed on a drug run. We were looking at getting it, and had a deal worked out with the sheriff when he put it up for auction, but then someone out bid us, thinking he could make a fast buck, and got stuck with more than he could handle.

Yes. We tried to buy it too. I think the guy who wound up with more than he could handle had a restaurant in Dallas, or maybe Houston. All those big Texas cities look alike to me.

Thanks Bryan. And sorry about that, Pinecastle. I didn't see it earlier where you posted that it was at Carl's place. I've crawled around that airplane at Carl's place and didn't realize that was the one pictured here on this thread.

I'd like to buy it now and by (buy) all rights it should be mine. :D Just kidding. But i do feel an attachmentment to that aircraft. You could tell it was involved in a drug run. The guy's bong was still laying in the bomb bay. That is me in the first picture looking around for him. I think he came in too hot and collapsed the left main gear.

Did anyone get caught in connection with the drug smuggling?

The summer of 1979...May????....I was heading to Poway Ca. with my hippy chick....I can't remember where I saw what I thought were two B-25's south of the I-40....Can't remember if it was west of Armadillo, or east....guess this thread repaired the C.R.S.
