Motts Military Museum

Just went there today, a nice little place, and practically jampacked with artifacts inside. Here are the three static birds outside:

The museum is also nicely situated in the flightpath for Rickenbacker Airport, and sure enough, several times during the day some 121st ARW birds came by low, including this one:

Unfortunately I ended up not shooting nearly as many photos of the aircraft as I'dve liked to, because my camera started to get really hot (why the !#@!#@#! would you make the casing black, that attracts heat!). Did confirm a few tank s/n's for the boys at Com-Central, though.

Mott's is in Groveport, OH, just outside of Columbus.

Drove by the museum a couple weekends ago and saw some changes. The perimeter fence has been extended to the adjoining lot, which will be the site of the 9/11 museum building.

The biggest change I noted though was in the C-47 (I think she is 44-76884?). She has been moved from behind the main museum building and closer to the Eddie Rickenbacker replica house. The right wing has been hung back on the airplane and there was a crane nearby, so I assume the left wing was up next. It`s several hundred yards off the road and I was in traffic, so I didn`t see if the horizontal was back on.

Mind if I snag the photos for the Registry?
If it's okay, PM me how the credit should read.
thanks.

I was able to stop by today and get some photos of the C-47. The major pieces are on the plane, with control surfaces, engine cowls, and wing fillets stored in the adjacent building that houses the museum`s Higgins boat.

EDIT: trying to figure out the new Flickr account, bear with me... :(
