Virus alert worldwide and airshows

So with yet another worldwide pandemic on our doorsteps in every country nearly - if not already high potential to be - this will cut down mass social gatherings.
Remeber the average virus lies dormant for around 3-5days before it hits you hard.

Airshows are one such mass formation of people...and these maybe will be closed if it gets worse. Bound to happen unless large scale protecton is used.

So along with recessions and now pandemics potential 2009 maybe a quiet year for airshows in some countries.

Already im reading US has mulitple virus infections, all from people who went to Mexico.
New Zeland has many cases - all from people who were in Mexico.

Spanish flu of 1919 killed 10s of millions.
Everyone forgets that after the horror of WW1....

Tourism will be hammered if this current strain goes beyond a few weeks.

Ive spent tonight stockpile foods and medical uses in case this goes severe in next 1-2 weeks as there will be mass rush for basic food stuffs etc.

There is possible prevention of that, like taking small dose of antibiotic every day. Even antrax can be stoped that way. But maybe better to stay home for some time...

Jeez you do write some B.S. NZ has no confirmed cases, so far 10 have been found to have 'standard' influenza, whilst few others are in quarantine awaiting test results. The media do enough of a beat up with out you adding to the perceived 'panic' with misleading 'facts' and working them into a 'warbird' thread.........off you go and lock yourself in a bunker then

In 1919 they didn't have Tamflu. It has proven to be effective for this strain.

Antibiotics have no effect on a virus. They only work on bacterial infections.

flyingheritage, you've failed to get facts right in most of your recent posts - re- Canberra, here and the RAAF fuel cell servicing health issues.

I think I'd trust Dave's opinion a lot further than your relaying of '10 news sources', given your recent misreporting.

A possible pandemic is a potential major issue. However if it is likely to affect us (via airshows) by then we'll all be getting our updates from more reliable sources and airshows will be the least of our worries.

So, sorry, this is just scaremongering, IMHO.
