Congrats to Lackland. Their aircraft look great.
The base sure doesn't look like it did when I did Basic there in 1952.

I suppose they wanted to honor the aces, but it just looks wrong to see a P-47N painted as Gabreski's mount, and a P-51H in WWII combat markings. But I guess I'm just a geek.

My uncle told me the plack (sp?) infront of the B-24 is a dedication to the 459th Bomb Group the same group my grandfather was apart of.

No public access, I was there in 2000 and showed them my D.L. and proof of ins and they let me on. {GREAT place too} but after 911 military I.D. is requried. I'll miss it.
