Yesterday at Lakeland, The Lauderback brothers were looking at airplane junk parts at the fly market and came across an old landing gear leg. IT looked familiar but definitely wasn't off anything North American. They called a friend and he paid cash for it on the spot. Turns out it is for an F6F Hellcat and thousands of people had walked past it without any interest!

What is he planning on doing with it?

I wonder if they need a R/H wing to add to it?

I believe the guy who bought it was Jay Wisler. He also has a couple of F6F parts on his website. Yeah, I thought the same thing Gary, maybe with the logbooks and a couple of other items from the P.O.F. remains, someone might start building up another project.

Anyone who is going to start a Hellcat restoration to flying condition, count me in as a sponsor ... I'd be very happy to help.
