Radio call / serial number expert needed

Hello,
Was just lucky to be offered what is obviously an F-84F instrument panel that was found last week by a friend in a Belgium scrapyard.
I would now like to trace this panel to an particular aircraft and thought it would be an easy task as the radio call is still present on the panel.
The radio call is 3947 and i was convinced it was always the last digits of the AF serial number. I went through yje F-84 production list but found no serial ending with 3947.
Can anyone help ?
