Help! P&W Powered Aircraft, For Pratt's 80th

Fri Feb 18, 2005 8:59 am

Does anyone know of any signifcant P&W powered A/C Like an F-100 that is in the New England Area? They are trying to bring the B-17 Yankee Lady up north because it was owned by Pratt. I need to get this in as we are tring to get some A/C together. Please Email me how to get a hold of these people. I will then forward it the correct channels. We are also trying to get some noteable people in aviation. GE, Rolls Royce, Wright Cyclone ( Other than the B-17 Pratt owned ) or anything else other than P&W need not apply. Additionaly we will be working the military channels to get a/c still in service.

Just some on the wish list!

The Yankee Air Force's B-17G "Yankee Lady" was never owned by Pratt & Whitney. The newly restored "Liberty Belle" is the Fortress you want.

There is an F-100 based in Fort Wayne, IN. Let me know if you need a contact.

Too bad I'm not flying F-15s anymore...I'd try to bring one.

Unfortunately my current jet is on the "banned" list, and GE powered.

How is the Collings Foundation's TA-4J coming?

The last update on the site is it should be ready for this year's airshows

Hi--

I haven't got an "in" with any of these, but how about:

--the CHAA Harvard demo team (out of Tillsonburg ON; 5x R1340 and an absolute delight to watch...and listen to!)

--one or more of the R4360-powered racers: Furies "Dreadnought" and "Furias", or (a bit closer geographically) Bob Odegaard's gorgeous F2G Race 57

--one or both Berlin Airlift Society transports (C-54 with R2000s; C-97 with R4360s)

--a Gee Bee replica (R985)

--the Canadian National Research Council's Twin Otter (2x PT6A) or Harvard 4 prototype

--CWH's Canso (2x R1830)...

Cheers; hope P&W's "bash" goes great! Or maybe I should just say "more power to you"?
