T-28 flying thoughts

Anyone got thoughts on T-28 flying?

I have potential invite for a T-28 flight in the future.

I feel a T-28 flight might be more affordable than a Dragonfly for my budget at the moment.

At the Toowoomba Vietnam fly in which i am attending 3 weeksw time, i will be ensuring people remeber the valiant T28 drivers of the USAF deployment in Vietnam and Laos.

Cool! I think I have a similar invite after a nice lunch with a fellow WIXer on Friday.

I work on T-28's with my buddy at Camarillo airport in Camarillo Ca. My suggestion to you is to know the history of the airframe.some that I have worked with are beautifully restored and I would fly in with no reservations.Others have come from countries such as Honduras or El Salvador and are all O.E.M.and there is no way that I would consider even Taxiing down the runway in them.Do your homework and fly accordingly.Central and South American maintenance levels aint up to par with U.S. Believe me,I know.Otherwise keep your fingers crossed and your life insurance paid up.

If the plane you might be flying in is in Oz or the Antipodes, it probably came from SE Asia and has combat history. It's my understanding that the Aussie/Kiwi restorations are often to a very high standard.

Most if all, I think you really enjoy what a sweet and enjoyable to fly aircraft they are. We took our little plane to display at a Raven FAC reunion, and the SEA O-1, O-2, T-28 guys are a really great bunch of heroes.

I dont wana die another day - so may live another few - ill take the T28 option..

That B52 delivered B40 series nuke in the Slim Pickins photo.... is actually fake.

I never noticed it until then.. a real bomb aint going to have black white test markings as it falls freely over russian soil is it now......so i guess it a movie gaffe?
