While I was in Canton, Ohio last week, I was delivering to a business there when the reciever at the particular company noticed my hat....It has PV-2 and the N number of my bird underneath it...He started telling me about his father...Whitey...and that he used to have a Navy plane...What he described was a PBY....But he said that his father had more than one....He described one flight in particular with his father and a friend in what I believe to be T-6 or SNJ's..got into a dogfight and his father forgot about him in the back seat...almost made a big mess!
Anyway, he told me that his dad had passed a few years back...He mentioned that his father had remarried and lived in Colorado, I think I remember him saying the Co. Springs area.....
I don't ever remember hearing of a PBY based in that area, but maybe someone here at WIX might....I told him that I would try to help track down his fathers aircraft....
From what the fellow told me, Whitey was quite the flyer, and a character...
I gave him my bus. card with the WIX web address on it, and hope he will be joining us....I'll let him introduce himself..

Thanks Dan, that would be the one! His son had me believing it might have been a PBY that he owned, but he very well could have flown one..
Is this the one that got damaged in Houston last year in the hurricane/flood?
