Anyone ever seen or heard of this weird stuff from UK AA Defence in 1960s?

I have never.

Looks like the CONUS Texas towers.. but these held AA batteries... err ...clarify that....Anti Aircraft

They were W.W.II not 1960s. Army ack ack forts and Navy monitoring stations. No RAF element.

Whilst the Mersey forts never fired a shot in anger, the Thames forts shot down 22 planes, 30 flying bombs, and were instrumental in the loss of one U-boat, which was scuttled after coming under fire from Tongue sands tower.

As well as their role in hindering German air raids, the naval forts have also been credited with extending radar coverage in the Thames Estuary, allowing the Royal Navy to pinpoint the positions of newly laid enemy mines and avoid them.

During the war the forts shot down 22 aircraft and about 30 flying bombs. They were decommissioned by the MoD in the late 1950s.
