Need help identifying this part

I know it is a piston but that is about it. One of our pilots in the Squadron found it for 2 bucks at a Habitat for Humanity store and bought it. Any help would be.....helpful.

it is a piston, it goes into a cylinder of a internal combustion engine. Without any more info such as diameter, or part numbers you cannot tell just from the photos, It could be from anything from a continental 520, lycoming 540 to a P&W 4360.

Look hard for casting numbers, part numbers, date codes. They can be on the dome, on the underside, or the flange under the piston pin.

It's a hemi! Looks to be from a radial. What's the diameter? Maybe with an accurate diameter we can figure it out.

Obvious two valve engine. Any numbers on the wrist pin bosses from the underside?

Diameter will be a major key to the lock here. Pin diameter may help as well. Definitely not an Offenhauser piston!
