Warbirds in Ramona CA this weekend!

Fri Mar 20, 2009 1:35 pm

I just read in the paper that a flying clinic will take place at the Ramona Airport this weekend starting today and run through Sunday.

Ramona: The skies over Ramona will be filled with World War ll-era airplanes for the next three daysas part of a formation flying clinic at the town's airport.

The event, primarily a training clinic for the group Classic Fighters of America, will allow the public to view some classic war birds including T-6's, T-28's and the famous P-51 Mustang that escorted bombers over Europe, and other World War ll era aircraft.

The event is free. The hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday.

The airport is at 2926 Montecito Road in Ramona. For info call (760) 788-3366

Jesse,

I don't know if you are aware of the rampcam at the Ramona CDF Tanker Base.Whenever there's an airshow at Ramona, some of the display airplanes are usually parked in view of the camera on the far side of the ramp near the t-hangars.

Here's a link:
