As the tag states, an airspeed indicator for a bombing computer (Bombardier). Early 50's could be B-36, B-47, etc..

Mike

Thanks Mike, I was thinking somewhere along the lines of B-36 or a -47 but still don't know, as the dates would lead me to believe. My guess is this ASI would be somewhere in the bombadiers compartment? And what would the red dot @ 352 be for?

Could the red mark be a target speed for the actual bomb run?

I'm going into the book piles later to see if I have anything on this, but my feeling is B-47/B-52 from what little I've gathered so far.

Thanks Scott, really appreciate it!

If it's B-47/52, then 360 kts would be in the middish .9 Mach range @ altitude-

Checking the Flight Manuals for the B-47 we find:
A model. Limiting structural speed 456 kts or M.85 whichever less.
B model. " " " 425 kts or M.86 " " .
E model " " " 310 kts or M.815 " " .
H model " " " 440 kts or M.86 " " .
Not sure if this helps narrow the search.

Thanks Glyn, doesn't really help me( I just have no earthly idea what its for) but maybe someone more knowledgeable than I? Interesting info though, thanks.
