Midland Air Museum - Coventry UK, pictures

Sent to Coventry!
A quick trip to the wonderful Midland Air Museum to get used to a new toy.
To start with the Boulton Paul BP .111a, this was a Delta Wing research aircraft from the 1950s
On with the rest of the museum. I was playing with a monopod to get those "way up a ladder" shots. Rule number 1, always make sure everything is tightened. That said I like the angle

Nice stuff, Nick....a friend of mine ran me by there real quick like once in 2001, got some shots of the planes and the airport cat, who seems to be missing from your pics....a long haired white, black and gold fellow he was....it was an interesting place, but we had to be on our way back to Tamworth so I only got about 5 minutes there...

Thanks for the pics MOTF. Oh, BTW, the Texas sticker on the Dove is all wrong! I thought ya'll were picky about the details over there?

Great photos, and while most aircraft look to be well-maintained, why is the Mig-21 inside, while the BP, Prentice and Sea Vixen are outside? Is the Mig just being detailed?
No offense, but unless it has some special history, Mig-21s are (literally) a dime a dozen, while the other types are quite rare.

Pretty cool to see that airframe again. Here's a shot of me sitting in it during one of the Upper Heyford airshows when I was stationed over there in the late 80's

Are you sure its the same one? This one is ex Oregon ANG and was in a grey colour scheme (with Oregon ANG marks) when she arrived at Coventry.

Pretty sure, as the other airframe they had for BDRT at the time was an F-105. I have pics of it too. By this time though it had been cleaned up and repainted, so it's a good chance that by the time UH closed they had repainted the F-4 as well.

I have my doubts but hey, its still a lovely aircraft kept in great condition. Especially so as its always outside.

Definitely not the same one then. I've also found another photo showing "449" on the nosewheel door. 699 must have shown up after I left in '89. But you are right, it's still nice to see the airframe taken care of.
