I don't recognize it, but it is not for F4U or FG-1. Does it have any part or casting numbers present? You should be looking for 4-8 digit numbers or numbers that start with a single or two digit number followed by a dash. Also, look for a three letter code that is cast or ink-stamped into the piece. Let me or the board know and we'll help figure it out.

Ditto John's comments: Definitely not Corsair. Gently clean/wet sand/whatever to find us those magic part numbers and we'll git er done.

I just got off the phone wth him and he is going to lightly sand the area that has part numbers on it.

Definitely Curtiss Maybe P-40 looks strikingly like a P-40 Tail Gear.
