A post-war Fortress that didn't end up as a drone

Anyone know what became of this one? B-17G Ser No. 44-83536. Looks like it became a "Brass" hack (Gen Ridgeway).

Ridgway's B-17

Mon Feb 09, 2009 3:26 am

Yes, Lt Gen Matthew Bunker Ridgway, who passed away on July 26, 1993, and his B-17G 44-83536, Hi Penny. A man with an illustrious military career spanning three wars.

I have to say that I think it's a damned disgrace that LIFE can't even spell his name correctly!
