This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

What is the longest duration flight you've logged? (At the controls, non-stop.)
My friend / instructor and I, just did (yesterday 2/7/09) approx. 5.5 hrs. From Placerville CA, to Tacoma Narrows WA. The aircraft was a '66 Cessna 172 with a 180 HP engine, a constant speed prop and Aux. fuel tanks. No autopilot and VFR only as well.
Needless to say, I slept like a log last night.
What's your longest flight? (Bonus points for those who didn't have a pot to .... in.

)
(I wasn't sure if I should post this here or in the GA section. I decided on here because I think the military and ex-military guys will take the top spots. Mods, move this as you see fit.)

9.7, Nellis AFB nonstop to RAF Lakenheath, UK.
Not really all that long for the heavy guys, but that's a long time to be strapped into an ejection seat wearing an exposure suit and survival vest.

How about Pearson Field, Vancouver, WA to Portland Int'l (PDX) 2.6 miles

in an SNJ, that's about 2 gallons worth.

My longest would probably be 4.5hrs if I remember correctly. It was part of my 300nm flight for my commercial license. Castelgar, BC to Calgary Alberta.
the most painful flight butt-wise would be ferrying an Air Cadet Schweizer 2-33A from Langley Airport to Comox behind an L-19 at about 65 mph. I think it's about a 2.5hr flight.

4.7 hrs in an 80 mph aircraft (under good circumstances) bucking a 37kt on the nose headwind with no relief tube which girls lack the equipment to use effectively anyway. Landed at destination, pulling off on taxiway, luckily at the end of the airport noone could really see, got out and christened the main tire......aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
OMG I can't believe I told ya that....LOLOLOL

10.6 in a C-130 from Anchorage, AK to Montgomery, AL. Returning from "Cobra Gold '94" in Thailand. Needless to say, after hops from Thailand, Korea, Japan, and the Aleutians, that was just another long leg - but still the longest for me.
