Messing around at the museum

I went to the NMUSAF with some friends just to hang out. No schedule, just walk around. I tried once again some new things, thought I would share them with you all.

As alot of you know, I went through a rough year and a half. Well, I met a great girl that changed my life. She even enjoys air museums and air shows. I lucked out with her.

Nice shots and some creative angles. You guys look good together.

What was your set up for the museum shots? Slow shutter speed with some fill flash? You have good detail in the background.

Great pics, one question though.........How do you take a picture of yourself and girl friend when you got the camera in your hand? Must have a lot of mirrors or you are a lot faster than you look.

Yeah I used my Nikon D-40 with a slow shutter speed, and no flash at all. The AC-130 pic I took while they had one of the hangar doors open building one of the new displays. I did use a tripod for some of the shots. As for the Pic of Karen and I, that was taken by one of my friends. I am fast, but not that fast.

Also thanks to al of you guys for your kind comments. If any of you have gone through what I did, you know what that's like. It's just really nice to get my life back on track, and in many ways on a better route.

I am still there Chris so I am feeling the pain you once felt. :cry:

Definatly great shots! However, how did you get the elevation for the photos of A-20, B-26, B-29? It appears that you must have been standing on a platform of some sort (e.g. a ladder). I was at the NMUSAF a month ago today (Dec 28) and do not recall any such platforms available... other than standing on the wing of an adjacent aircraft (probably frowned upon).

Cool shots! Glad to hear that your life is turning around. Good feeling, isn't it?

I'm almost 10 years from my "event" and looking back, it's hard to believe I was ever in that place. A former life, if you will. It was the best gift she ever gave me. :lol:

Sounds like a familiar story. I'm doing pretty good in my new life as well. Good to here your's is going well too!

Any word on getting the ball turret back into the B-24 (the one from Dover)?
