Looking on Preserved Axis Aircraft site and saw this:
"C.4K-121 The 1941 Historical Aircraft Group, Genesco, NY, Rebuilt with DB601N engine. Stored in Texas"

What's the story with this one?

Not sure of the story, but Connie Edwards has a few Hispanos in Texas and a DB601 in a crate.

So this one is just part of the legendary Big Springs collection? Has it been actually set aside for the 1941 HAG? Is it theirs?

Dr. Bill Anderson had one at Geneseo back in the early 1990´s.
I don´t know where it is now.

Know what the ballpark figure was for a 601?

If I remember right it was traded to Harold Kindsvater (sp) for the Nord Me-208. I have a photo of it I will post later today.

IIRC, while the Buchon was there he also had a Spitfire in the hangar at Gennie as well.
Anyone know what happened to that one?

I was told the fantastical figure of $350,000. But that price seems odd to me, a good D sold a few years ago for a much much lower price than that. You would have to really want it for $350,000

Last reported sold and transferred to Belgium and now resides in the Eric Vormezeele collection. No photos or information confirming this however...
... though if anyone has any information as such, it would be appreciated!

I've been told its with Malcolm Laing in Texas.
This is a shot from when it was at geneseo back in the early 90s.
Cheers,
Eric
