Tu 95 "Bear"

I thought I recall that at one time the Natl Museum of the USAF was slated to obtain a Tu-95 Bear. Does anyone else remember this or am I just dreaming? It was probably about 10 years ago.

I remember hearing that too, but I think it was just a rumor. I wonder what happened?

The Russians have put them all back in the air and are using them again
I vividly remember the Bear's that visited RAF Fairford for the RIAT some years back, the noise they make is amazing.

The museum was offered one, and the accepted it, but I am not sure what is going on with that.

Roger on the noise from the Tupolev's engines. Seems like I heard or read that several European airports banned the Tu-114 transports, the civil Bear "equivalent" because the 15,000 hp. Kuznetsovs were so loud. I bet turbines and counter rotating props that humongous can stir some dust! Yowzah!
