The Last Flight Of "Snafu"

Fri Jan 23, 2009 9:16 pm

Lt Don Livesly of the 44th FS flew #32 on it's last mission in Jan 1944 and brought her home after a dogfight with a 20+ Zeros over New Ireland. Over 150 cannon and bullet holes were counted. Livesly later downed 2 Zeros over Rabaul in Feb. 1944.

Fantastic shots as always - thanks for posting all these.

Lt Don Livesly looks fairly relaxed after what he's just been through.

Must have been a bit of a character as it's unusual to see 'mutton chop sideburns' and a 'half goatee' then. :)
