Looks like you had a horrible time. 
Going by the canopy and visible instrument, you are flying the ultra rare Razorback* Learstang?
*This is of course not the correct term for the early Mustangs, and I am fully cognisant of the fact, and although it fitted the joke OK, I've taken myself out back and drowned myself.

James, why do you call it a "Learstang"? There's only been one "Learstang" that I'm aware of - Vendetta/Miss Ashley II, which had P-51 parts, combined with a Lear jet wing.

Nope... that is definitely dirt on the sensor.... such a bugger to deal with!

So, how does one clean the sensor? Isn't that inside the camera? Wouldn't that necessitate disassembling the camera?

Depends on the make and model of camera. If it is a DSLR, you should be able to set it to "Clean CCD Mode" which gives you access to it (with lens off of course) and use the PROPER cleaning tool. Do NOT use canned air or compressed air unless you want to destroy your camera. You don't want to goober that up..$$$$$!!!! If it is a sealed point and shoot.......the best you can do is clean the lens on the outside, Point and shoots are usually pretty well sealed and crap can't get in there.
