65th Anniversary D-Day

Fri Jan 16, 2009 2:58 pm

Guys,

we're trying to get some of our warbirds out to the 65th Anniversary of D-Day in Normandy this year.

Are there pilots/people on this forum who are familiar with the local airports which could be used. We're looking for a grass strip between Caen and Cherbourg.

I know there will be more warbirds in the area that week so I am looking for info on from where they operate. I know both Caen and Cherbourg have a domestic airport but operating from a smaller grass airstrip would be better.

We have been working before with re-enactments groups like the band of brothers so we hope to get a similiar outthere again.

Feel free to drop me a mail at a.g.jans[at]home.nl

Cheers, André
