C-97G "Angel of Deliverance" IN SERVICE as KC-97L

Tue Jan 06, 2009 2:34 pm

I finally, after years of scrounging the internet found some pics of our bird in service.

First is as KC-97L Wisconsin Air National Guard refuelling an RF-4C Phantom II over Zweibruchen Air Base, West Germany as part of "Operation Creek Party"

Second was taken by a fellow named Norm Filer on August 28, 1974 at Salt Lake City in Utah Air National Guard Markings.

Thanks to John Lameck for providing them to the Foundation.

Hey Kevin,

That Stratofreighter has really gotten around. I think I like it better in the BAHF YC-97A Arctic Red Markings than the rather plain ANG KC-97L scheme.....

Thanks for the pictures. Maybe someone can eventually scrounge up some shots in its earlier career as a SAC KC-97G.

Keep up the good work!
