I always carry around my trusty mini tripod which came in really handy as it's pretty dark there. Plus it's fun to get the different perspective.

Great coverage, and thanks!
What a great building for an aviation museum. Are any of these airplanes being flown at all at this point?

Al,
Awesome photos. Finally some high quality shots from what limited situation you've got there at Tillamook. Definitely a place I need to visit in my life.Have to repay the favor of these pics with some shots from the New England Air Museum.

Not sure exactly which ones are being flown currently but it sounded like they plan to do more next year. I guess the Mustang had been up a few days prior and the P-38, Oscar, Corsair and a few others are currently able to.

I am glad. I remember seeing (but not, alas, photographing) that Mustang when it came out of Bakersfield 25 years ago -- it seemed like a very nice restoration...

Went to Tillamook in August 1997, great place then, looks better now (more planes).
The ex-blimp building is 1,072' long, 192' high, 296' wide. Each door is 150' high and and 220' wide and weighs 30 tons. Building built with fire retardant
douglas fir, 2.9 million board feet, enough to build 250 3 bedroom homes.
There was originally 2 hangers but one burned several years before we visited.

We need a thumbs-up emoticon cause I'd give you two
Al, any nose art or other shots of the A-26? Thanks.

Is the P-39 project still displayed or maybe in restoration in their other building?
What is/was the identity (serial number) of that Airacobra? Was it one from a Canadian lake?
