Interesting subject to the open minded, and you are a brave man for posting it. So many pilots have seen strange things that they can't all be discounted as Venus or temperature inversions. I am not talking about little green men here, government testing is by far the most likely explenation for most, but a small number of sightings will not go away. Rendelsham Forest at Bentwaters AFB is one. Roswell and the Mantell case have I think been explained sufficiently as to be regarded as of definately earthly in origin. A lot of the Foo Fighter sightings must have been rocket and secret German testing. There is evidence that the Germans were working on a saucer shaped craft, and may even have flown it before the wars end. Not so far fetched when you remember the Vought V-173. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vought_V-173

Anyway , here is an article about Foo Fighters http://www.ufocasebook.com/foofighters2.html

I am sure this thread will degenerate into a rabble
You take the flak for posting it Tom, and I will take the flak for answering

That's the only documented "saucer-plane" I'm aware of. A lot of the other ones oft-mentioned when Luft '46 comes up are myths and/or rumors, as far as I've seen. That and what sources do mention them are usually incredibly dubious (UFO websites and the like who will believe just about anything with the most intangible, baseless shreds of evidence)
