Impressed civilian a/c markings

Mon Dec 01, 2008 6:36 pm

I know the military impressed numerous civilian aircraft during WW2. My question regards those that may have been impressed in small numbers, example that comes to mind is the prewar Aeroncas such as the KCA.
I'm guessing that at least some of these were not treated to a full paint treatment. Can anyone advise what markings, if any, were comonly applied to such impressed aircraft ?
Thanks in advance !!

My Dads two Cubs were drafted and I think they just remained yellow. Never got em back either. Wonder if the Navys' got them somewhere underwater taking good care of them.

There were at least 20 Wacos impressed into service and were given the designation UC-72. Nearly all were Custom Cabins such as the SRE, EGC-8, EGC-7, YOC, CUC-2, EQC-6
