A cockpit quiz from a new book

Wed Nov 26, 2008 9:34 am

A new reference book arrived the other day and I thought I'd test your cockpit recognition skills with this image from that book.

I'll post the book and photo info a bit later. No prizes but some of you might enjoy the book.

Looks Japanese to me. Maybe a Ki. 36/55 "Ida"?

Bingo Mike - a Tachikawa Ki-55 Ida Army trainer.

The book is Japanese Aircraft Equipment 1940-1945 by Robert C. Mikesh, published by Schiffer in 2004 but I just got a copy. Chapters are devoted to Aircraft Instruments, Radio Equipment, Aerial Cameras, Machine Gun and Machine Cannon, Gunsights and Bombsights and Interior Colors and Coatings. More later.
