No...the bombs did'nt....but a few drowned in the subsequent bomb geysers and from defending flak bursts from the Japanese ships....DAMMIT....

The oil slick from the sunken freighter! The Horrors! Might kill some Frigate birds (that's Frigate not Friggin", there is a difference!) Pelicans are those "friggin' birds that try to eat your bait while you are out fishing, or take the fish you catch!
Not to mention the damage to the reefs and fishies!

Back on track...sorry Jack..A very good pic of the skip-bombing technique in action, though it looks like one didn't skip so well and went off on impact or just didn't skip right. Or was this more of a low angle "dive Bombing? Trying to decipher the splash and BOOMs in the water
????

You're forgetting about the B-25 whose strike camera took the photo.
I think the pictured a/c was after a different target and overflew the first one's target.

There does seem to be a faint wake coming up to the set-back bomb pattern. Two targets getting pasted then! As high as the camera ship's bomb geysers are flying, the one in image didn't miss the free bath by much!

...and a great way to fish as well! No time wasted with line and hook, just take out the boat, after a 500 pounder, and just fill it with fish!
In Rudel's biography "Stuka Pilot" he mentions going on a bomb run just for fishing! Had the groundcrew take some boats and get some fresh grub for the mess hall!
