Differences between Hispanos and Brownings..

Tue Nov 18, 2008 1:23 am

Going through some big wooden boxes in one of our Hangars and found what we first thought to be rusted up wrecked Hispanos but with some research found that they were in fact Brownings. We were going to draw them up and make replicas up for our Spit but now unsure how correct they would be.I know they are of a similar lineage but want to try get them as close as possible..Help guys...

your Spit had 2 x Hispano 20mm cannon plus 4 x .303in Browning machine guns. My Mk XIV was fitted with 2 x Hispano 20mm and 2 x .5in Browning MG's although the wing is internally fitted for 4 x .303's as well..

Brownings..

Hi Oscar...
In Brownings I meant the 20mm kind (P38,P39,P61 etc),not the .050".We have some of them stashed away as well.We also have some .0303"s put away..Can draw up a set of plans for you of the .050"s if you want..
Oh and your fuel tank is still being pulled apart.Volunteers are few and far apart at the moment so I,m a bit stretched...hope all is good over there and the storm didn,t do any damage to anything..
cheers mate.
