The Beasley was designed and built in Marshall Mo. The Key brothers that sat a endurance record; learned to fly in a Beasley.

irrc There used to be a set of wings floating aroud Marshall. Any way i was shown the building they were in back in the late 80's.
A bar in marshallalso had some minor artifacts.

The Nicolas-Beazley NB-4 was built in 1930. It was a low-wing open-cockpit aircraft that seated three. There were several engine options available. It was built under ATC #385 and #386. The NB-4L was powered with a 5-cylinder 90 h.p. Lambert R-266. Only 3 were built. The NB-4W was powered with a 5-cylinder 90 h.p. Warner Scarab "Junior" and a total of six were built.

There is a survivor. Freshly restored and almost flyable. It's in the Nic Beazley museum in Marshall, MO, and was restored by D.J. Short in Warrensburg, Mo. They got it out for me to shoot a year or so ago for my next "Vintage Flyers" book. Nice in black and yellow.

A Genet Major I think. They also have a nice NB-8G.

The NB-8 usually has a Genet in it. I know they tried a Genet in the NB-4 but never certified it. Interesting engine. I believe their was either an NB-4 or an American-built Klemm project for sale on BARNSTORMERS about 3 years ago.

That's a nice warbird. Which theater did it serve in and what branch?

That served in the little-known Missouri uprising and was flown by washed-out Air Corps pilots on suicide missions. Thankfully, they had a hard time keeping the Lamberts running and so none were used before the rebellion was crushed.
