Nit-picking I know, but if anyone searches for a specific a/c then those listed with a wrong serial or N# won't show up, or these photos might later be labelled wrongly. So here I'll go trying to add to the descriptions!

I could not agree more. But, I guess if you can afford to buy it then you can paint it any way you want! Isn't the airplane back in an authentic paint scheme again?

Anyone know the status of the red P-51H Serial # 44-64415?
I remember the photos of it off the runway at Reno when it had the camoflage paint scheme but that was 30 years ago!
Time flies faster than a mustang it sometimes seems like.

Is that the Whittington P-51H? If so, that spent many years here in my area and was owned and flown by Bill Hogan of Hamilton, Ohio. This was an airplane that was truly found in a garage.

Just a note regarding this one. This is the second 51 to wear the registration C-FBAU. This one is 44-72826, the other one which crashed in 1984 was 44-73140.

I remember when it went off the runway at Reno. IIRC the prop linkage attachment on the Aeroproducts prop is a ring on the back of the prop that rotates through a certain amount of travel with an arm the the linkage rod end connects to. They were known for failing and that happened here. The entire rear portion of the prop actually is stationary. The prop blades went to very low pitch which is close to feather position. There is much less drag and that caused the pilot to come in fast, land long and he was unable to stop on the runway. The photos on the above link show the approach with the prop blades in low pitch and the resulting damage. Now it appears that it has a Ham Standard Prop on it instead of the Aeroproducts.

I can't recall but isn't Death Rattler flying again?
That was my favorite Mustang at the time and was sad to hear she went down.
