COLORADO - Aviation photographers needed. Nov 14-Nov 16

Thu Nov 06, 2008 5:58 pm

In Colorado. Aluminum Overcast B-17 Tour Stop Nov 14 - Nov 16!

I wanted a little more info about this event, so I called national aviation artist Joe Jones of http://airmail-greetings.com.
(This guy does some fantastic artwork!)

This sounds like an amazing event!!!!!
More information can be found here.
www.b17tours.com/

Mr. Jones told me about the events that will be going on, and he is looking for people to volunteer time to help document this occasion.
It is all about the veterans, and the entire event will be centered on it.

He is looking for photographers to volunteer 1-2 hours (between the hours of 9 - 4pm) each day to take photos of these veterans.
I plan to do what I can to help out.
If you are interested in aviation photography, this will be
one of those “DO NOT-MISS-EVENTS”!
This is very much an opportunity to meet those people who are real heroes and see the aircraft.

If you are interested in helping out, please send an email to joe@airmail-greetings.com.

Event Details:
The event will begin each day with the raising of the color guard and stirring live performance of our National Anthem. Along with a host of a knowledgeable volunteer staff on hand throughout the event for ground tours and daily flight operations with the media and paid flights, many veterans will also be in place and available on the ramp to add perspective and insight to the Boeing B-17, and other invited warbirds. Each hour we will have local celebrities, historians and other scheduled guests on hand as mediators for a rare series of interviews, panel discussions, and question and answer sessions with our distinguished veteran guests. Working in a united effort, we will also be calling on the support of our active military, and both the Boy Scouts and Girl Scout groups to help set the tone of respect for both young and old. With scheduled autograph and photo sessions this tribute will put a face to the stories and history in a way never done at any of the EAA B-17 tour stops to date. Our event will conclude with the playing of Taps, a massive balloon launch with the veterans and 'Missing Man' formation each day. We are committed to make every effort to produce an event truly worthy of these great men and women as they deserve nothing less from us all. We proudly invite you and your family to join us to contribute as sponsors, volunteers and participants in this powerful veterans salute.

This should be a great time!

I am taking the day off on that Friday, but after talking to Joe Jones, am am really excited.
There will be some exciting stories from many of these veterans. It will be time for Bluedharma to learn a thing or two!
Aircraft and flyovers!

I think Gordon Page will have a Spirit of flight( http://www.spiritofflight.com) display at the event.
He has always got some cool stuff to talk about!

Too bad Al that you live up in WA. It sounds like they could use your help with the photos!
Lots of veterans will need lots of photographers to document this fine event.

Best Regards,

No... no aristocracy.
This event is about those guys who help protect my right to vote in the States.
United States Veterans
That is what makes these pictures much more important than the average kind!
