This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Hi all,
Just a few things I'd figure share with you. Some fact some rumor but here it is:
There is a possiblity of a marine/Navy theme for next years Geneseo airshow. (Personnally I can see several Corsairs making it seeing how there are several in the Northeast. But thats just me no one elses word.)
Second...there is a fundraising going on called "the 1941 fighter fund". The 1941HAG are beganning to take donations for the future purchase of either a P-51 or P-40. This will be used as a teaching aid as well as selling rides and going to airshows.
Here is the link if you would like more info or make a donation:

My first thought was "Wouldn't the money be better spent on getting that newly acquired A-20 flying?" But then it may not be HAG's as it is still owned by the DT estate?
What about Dr Bill Anderson? Is he still involved at all up there at Gennie? I recall he had a change of heart about parting with the P-40 after the mishap and the subsequent rebuild.

I am hoping that the DT estate decides to make Geneseo home and start to gather and restore numerous aircraft there. Including the A-20. Hey, if they decide to get a P-40 lets hope its an early long nose version.

I mean they are the 1941 Historical Aircraft Group.
But didn't Dr Bill Anderson have a Hispano 109 and a Spitfire at one time there? I mean not flying but projects?

The Navy/Marine theme sounds like a good one. General enough to assure at least a decent turnout. It is easy to think of 4 or 5 Corsairs that might be able to make it. How about looking into booking the CAF SB2C and/or Dauntless as the centerpiece? Then scrounge up a Wildcat from somewhere and you are good to go.
There might be a Seafire XV flying in RCN markings by next year. Imagine if that and the CWH Firefly could be lured in. Some folks would drive pretty far to see those two Navy types fly together.

Anyone on WIX part of the organization of the show???? Reason being, I casually mentioned that the Geneseo show was going to be a Navy/Marine theme on my N3N owners group. I also mentioned the possibility of a East Coast N3N gathering at the show. A group of 6 N's got to meet in Colorado this year and they had a great time. Well OVERNIGHT, I have got responces from guys as far as Wyoming that would like to fly across to NY!!!! Now before I go confirming a "thought" for some local guys, I would like to get in contact with someone from the Geneseo organization.
Thanks for any help.

Thanks for passing on the info. I can believe the amount of interest this has in our little group. I first thought that we could get maybe 4 or 5 for the guys around the east coast but there is a good chance for 9!!!!! Thats a big number for us!!!

What sucks is Geneseo is the same date as my MV club rally. But if we have a N3N gathering, i would miss it and go to NY!!!

I was just talking to Frank Schaufler who organizes the aircraft participating in the show and he is looking for a theme for the biplane rally held the week leading up to the show. Maybe a N3N meeting is in order.
Jeff PM me if you are interested and I can pass along the information.
