Tom, Great photos of the A-26 conversions. I remember in the 1960's going into Rock Island Oil and Refinining's (Now known as Koch Industries of Wichita, Kansas) conversion shop at Hutchinson, Kansas and seeing the work of converting the A-26s. They had a going business until the Lear came on the scene. I remember seeing an A-26 spraying water on a Lear at altitude for icing tests. I remember the shop forman running me out of the hangar for looking around. They had several of these A-26s sitting on the Hutchinson airport for years behind some trees in the north part of the grass area of the airport. Then one day they started pulling them up on the ramp and took several apart and put duck tape and got several running and supposedly flew them to California. The talk around Hutchinson was that they were going to be rebuilt and sent to South America. I was just learning to fly then and these big machines were something to see after flying a Cessna 120 as a student. One thing that was evident is that you had to be a PILOT to fly one of these A-26s and not a computer operator as today. Phillip

In my previous post I should have stated that I saw a picture of the water being sprayed on a Lear as I was not at that altitude in the A-26. Couldn't beg a ride. Phillip
