Hey that seat configuration looks familiar. Kinda like another similar aircraft on the other side of the Metroplex... :)

Looks good guys. Can't wait to see it next to the R4D. :)

tornado... happened. it combined 3-4 dc3's and 3-4 convairs all into one big plane  i wish i had the pictures of the tracks from the planes moving off the concrete and through the grass/mud so went 50 ft or so through it.

I noticed this one is sporting Wright 1820s for engines. Weren't Gooney's with Wright engines C-49s, C-50s, C-51s & C-84s?

According to the website the aircraft was a C-49J during its wartime service.

My guess is they'll be calling it a C-47 since not many people know what a C-49J is and because the USAAC called all Douglas DC-3 type aircraft the "C-47" when referring to them as a whole.

Wow ! very nice paint job. Question I did not find any T9 code for a Troop carrier Squadron it has been painted in??? if it is not painted for a plane in WWII then I think it might be a missed oportunity to honor an aircraft that was in on D-Day. Does anyone know this aircraft's history?
beyond that I am just happy that someone has spent there hard earned money fixing her up and I hope to see it at an airshow in the future. :D
