St. Louis area WWII era airport for sale?

I hope this is just one council member's idea of a quick way to raise money but I fear there are others on the county council who will jump on his wagon. St. Charles County Smartt Field is home to the local CAF wing and since the other airport, St. Charles Muni will probably be gone in the next few years, I would really hate to see Smartt Field vanish into the fog.
