Any idea of the history of this A-26? Might it be the one that in the early 70's was operated by the Air National Guard? If so it was the first warbird I ever saw at the first air show I ever went to. Pease Air Force Base probably 1971or 1972. T Birds flew F-4s. WOW

Is that little intercepter from the NMUSAF or is it a second example?
Thu Oct 16, 2008 10:47 am
That is a second example. The one at the NMUSAF is on display behind the left wing of the B-36 in the Cold War Gallery.

Halloween isn't until the end of the month and you are already seeing Goblins? Dude, you need to cut back!!

Goblin..........did you say goblin?
One of two with the other as mentioned at NMUSAF. Pretty cool to have such a rare and interesting subject here.

Now, imagine yourself being the poor soul assigned to test fly this contraption !

What was the one word Chuck Yeager summed it up with?
Duty!
......or was that drawing the short straw?!?
Think I'd take the A-26. Though the Goblin would fit in my garage! Put it on a hydraulic gimble, plug quarters into it and you have a nifty ride!

Of course, there's X-1 duty and then there's XF-85 duty (which probably ranked right up there with guard duty or KP duty).
