Thanks

Jon: If I hadn't been evicting a house guest that decided to get drunk and wreck a couple of grand of cabinets and appliances last week, I would have gone. We had cut rate passes from work and tickets to the company pavillion.

Maybe next year we can set things up and get a bunch together for the show. I now live only a few miles from Alliance and our company always has something going on for the show. Last couple of years I didn't go because I was doing launch and recover on our company bird that flew a demo there.

I made it out Sunday afternoon...I was in the parking lot when the Warbird flight was happening..

I did get a few shots when they came back to the ramp and during departure.

This show drives me nuts...the sun is in the wrong part of the sky (not the airport's fault) but half of the spectator line is taken up by corporate tents and fences and at least 1/4 of the rest is taken up by food vendors, a jumbo-tron? and inflatable slides and bounce houses...on the fence line!?!?!

On the other hand the show is non stop, four Extras doing aero, Gene Soucy's ag-cat, Legacy Flight, Heritage Flight, areo glider, jet truck, Super Bug, Eagle blasting and the T-birds...and that was the afternoon.

Free entrance...$20 per car parking... a van load is the way to go!

Massive Machine!

Anyone we should know in the Cavanaugh Birds?

Fri Oct 17, 2008 8:45 am

Well in your pictures you have in the TBM Kevin Raulie(been with Cavanaugh since day one!) In the Wildcat is Stewart Dawson, in the Spad was Mike Burke(not sure who the pax were?) and no pictures posted and sorry I never took any close ups of it, but Doug Jeanes in the "bug eyed monster" OV-1. And then there was "Snort" Snodgrass in the P-40.

No wonder I didn't recognize the pilot of the Wildcat. He's not wearing his helmet!

Sorry you missed me. Here's a shot from Scott Slocum. " Needle" is my A.S.S. ( airbourne system specialist )

I've seen this exact thing at a couple of shows I've been to over the past couple of years. It seems the larger the show, the less likely there's actually a fence line for the public to hang on.

Dean I wanted to compliment you on your shots, looks like it was better weather than Sunday :!: Really liked the in-flight of Snort in the P-40, perfect angle, perfect sun, that camo really stands out :!:
Thanks.
