This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Great to hear that Art got it out!
And yes, Mr. Nalls is a CAF member and that is the CAF "Brand" with a twist. It says "Member Owned" above the shield and wings. The wings have been made available to any member who wants them for their own warbirds. I think they look good where he's got them - not overly flashy, not taking up a ton of space (which they never were supposed to), and right where people will see it in flight and on the ground.

Yes those are a "CAF wings and member owned" decal. They put it on the Harrier Saturday AM....
I can say that Mr. Nalls is dedicated since he made it fly. Also he is one of the few people that I would really say is qualified to fly it (as in former Marine Harrier pilot, military test pilot, actually brought a Harrier back engine out (Marine owned that is) and he aparently has the $$$ to do it all. His crew was at our hotel and he brought a BUNCH of people.......).
Pretty impressive........

Nice to see Rich Kolasa, and I'm sure a few others as I was running around!
I can attest that Art is very much dedicated, not to mention one helluva *nice* guy. He's been able to attract some VERY talented and gifted crew, who just want to be involved with the Harrier programme. It really is like his latest update says "We have already come farther than most people can dream".
I'd like to put in a plug for the National Capitol Squadron of CAF. Culpeper is our home airport. We have an "Open Hangar Day" 2nd Saturday of each month, 9am or so till whenever, anyone is welcome!!

Thanks Eric. I hope Berni is doing well, I know the passing of Charley Fox must have affected her.
To tell you the truth, as a photographer the SHAR debut was very disappointing. Total kudos to Art and his crew, but to do the part of the SHAR demo that everyone loves to see so far away (and into the sun) from show center was a total bummer. I was about at the end of the crowd line to the right, and you see how far right the demo part was. And I don't complain about the far right too often. DOH! A little election humor. Vote early and vote often (to counter the corruption). Vote the Aviation Party.

To all
unfortunately, "the powers that be" FAA designated the area Art had to operate in. Beyond our control. We will after Art gets his ACE card and "prove" the aircraft fly a more exciting demonstration. We hope to hover at show center. some aerobatics, etc.
As with everything with this project we crawl before we walk and walk before we run. We are the only one and have the only one. We don't want to chance screwing up.

HF - Welcome to WIX!
Thanks for the information. I think we all know how the FAA can be.
