Thanks for the Hellcat photos .... Dad's upstairs very happy right now. He flew west a few days ago last year. No wonder I have a short fuse!!! ...
Jack or anyone who cares to research, I tried, no luck to find .... ensjg David Vashon (not sure the spelling) who was my dad's wingman off the USS Franklin just before the October mess that put a bunch of holes in the carriers deck. They flew several night missions together. They stayed in touch for many years, but I was too young to know too much.
David lived in LA for many years and I have tried to find him. Zero luck. Any studs that know how to look for old Navy hellcat jocks, please let me know.
