Here are a couple of my personal favorites, both with a Second Air Force connection:
These guys look less than thrilled to be preflighting their trainer in such cold weather. This photo was taken at Fairmont Army Air Field, Nebraska in February of 1944. The crew is from the 485th Bombardment Group.
This is the crew that flew 5 Grand overseas, taken in a hangar at Kearney AAF before departure.
And this is the crew of "Old Man Mose", 462nd Bombardment Group. The crew and plane trained at Walker AAF, Kansas and the photo was taken at their main base at Piardoba, India.
