Interesting change in policy.
11 aircraft were taken out so far. I wonder what all came out and where they went.

See Classic Wings 64 for an article on the aircraft that came out ( as much as we were allowed to report!)

I'd be interested on just where in the Solomons they came from? There are two B-17 wrecks that I know of & they are sometimes visited by divers. There are two museums on Guadalcanal. The first @ Beticama has a P-39 and SBD but the other, out toward Cape Esperance @ Vilu has an F4F, F6F, Corsair, the main spar of another Corsair, P-38, SBD, and parts of TBMs, Kingfishers & a Betty.
There is also a sunken Mavis flying boat maybe 100 yds. offshore of Gavutu near Tulagi. It is visible from a boat in the clear water.
