This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Last Thursday, August 28th, with the help of two friends, owner/restorer Chris Prevost had his Curtiss P-40N towed out of its hangar in Schellville, CA and ran the Allison engine for the first time. The preceeding Saturday, the aircraft was towed out to the gas pump & had fuel in the tanks for the first time. At that point, I knew it was close to the historic day so I came out to the airport every day after until on Thursday afternoon, there was nothing left to check and no more tests to be done.
The engine started readily and ran for about 5 minutes before it was shut down. Some small cooling leaks were fixed, an adjustment made to the carb and it was started and ran again with a short taxi test.
Huge amount of progress on this flying machine since last December when the wing was mated to the fuselage. I feel privileged to have been able to witness the progress on the aircraft.

Any pictures or a serial number of the aircraft? I might have missed it in the Registry.
That is great news that another P-40 is about to take to the air. We look forward to the day you can post that it flew.
