Spent a bit of time at NMUSAF today...

...and I was really pleased with this one with my sons' faces reflected in the glass...

...but I was even more proud of them I explained the Doolittle raid to them, explained the signicicance of what they were seeing, and then we spent 15 minutes as they looked over the display and the goblets, looking for names of those still living, looking at the A2s on display and matching them up with the names on the goblets.

Good kids, those two. (And one of them was a human light stand for the Shoo Shoo Shoo Baby shot)

We also spent quite a bit of time talking about the Lady Be Good.

Well, I'm closer than you...I live in Columbus.

Got myself in trouble, though...talked up the restoration shop and had the boys all pumped up to see the Belle and the Swoose. Unfortunately, there's an age limit of 12-and-over.

That's okay...they got to talk to a volunteer who was a B-17 pilot in the 305th BG. THe Belle will be there later.

The pics with your boys is what makes my time volunteering at the museum every week worth while. ... I'm sure you had them sit in the F-4 and F-16 cockpits for a photo shoot as well ....

One of these days I will have to bring my new 10 mega pixel camera and tripod to take some shots.

And look at the photos! Proof that great shots are certainly achieveable if you know how to do it!

That display of the BT-14 has always been one of my favorites. A prime example of a once-airworth warbird that was retired to the museum

I've been blessed and at times, cursed, to have my family working at the hangar this summer.
